Are You Ready To Get Your California State Civil Service Job? Let's Get to Work.

My name is Terrie L. Robinson, and I am a fifth-generation Californian, attorney, and semi-retired third-generation California State employee (and yes, I know "State" shouldn't be capitalized, but my State editor sister gave me permission). It is my passion to help people, especially marginalized people, get civil service jobs with the executive branch of the State of California.  As the daughter of State workers, I know first-hand how having a stable State job with benefits and a pension can change the life of a family and help them achieve financial stability.  My parents were working-class State employees who didn't have high school diplomas, and their jobs helped them achieve financial stability for our family of eight - with medical and dental benefits for me and my five older siblings and pensions with healthcare benefits for them in old age.  As the sister and cousin of many retired State employees who have paid healthcare benefits in addition to pensions, Social Security benefits, and 401Ks, I see how having a worry-free retirement frees people to enjoy their golden years.

I am inspired to do this work by my late mother, who used to help our relatives get State jobs, especially the women in our family.  She would say to my sisters and my female cousins, "A man is not a plan" and "A girl's gotta have her own money."  Because women tend to outlive men, a State pension, combined with paid healthcare benefits, Social Security benefits, and 401K investments, can ensure that women have secure retirements with or without a man.

My California State Jobs Bootcamps is a live seminar taught via Zoom. I teach people how to submit superior job applications for California civil service jobs and how to prepare for civil service job interviews so it takes less time to get a State job.  My clients also get to join a community of State job seekers and employees and have free group meetings with me -- "Office Hours" -- to keep them on track in their job search, help them promote in State service, and share information.  My strategy for getting a State job takes hard work up front, but it reduces the amount of time you spend trying to get a State job.

The California State Jobs Bootcamp is not affiliated with the State of California.
